What not to do at picture time

Whilst graduating on monday I captured this awkward moment:

AT WORK - University of Brighton 2010 Undergraduate Architecture catalogue

Here is the design catalogue of my year and our work, titled 'At Work'. We were each given an A5 size area to fit in a small paragraph and a few key images of one of our projects in 3rd year. I chose the Social Condenser project. Considering we had only around a week to organize all the images, text, layout and printing, the end result was amazing and well worth the effort.

My models on show

As part of our graduate show I managed to get both my small process models and my 1:100 design proposal into the exhibit. The process model shows early thoughts on a design that would have been formed from an undulating material rising up from the ground. The final design proposal is shown with its roof off. Although it is in a less than satisfactory position (an inch off the floor) at least I managed to get it in the show with the available space for models very limited. Thank you to Lizz for the photos.

Tim Davey

I thought the Graphics and Illustration part of the Brighton graduate show was amazing. Tim Davey's Bermuda Triangle work in particular stood out for me.

Edie

Here is my aunt's dog Edie. She was found as a puppy with her mum in a cardboard box in Spain (a bit like my first package holiday). I took these pictures using my Diana F+ camera using 400 speed black and white film.

Exhibiting at the Brighton Graduate Show 2010

My work is currently being shown at the Brighton graduate degree show. Unfortunately we were only able to to have a very small space each (A2 panel) due to the large size of our class (67 people). Here is my panel plus a few other images (more to come).

It Begins...

And so I have become a blogger. Thus far I've resisted the iphone, skinny jeans and Lady Gaga (to an extent, but her 'come-ons' are becoming more and more intense) but the lure of a blog was too great. So here it shall begin, my musings shall be aired, commence the pant party, something something rhymes with aired...
